Ivan and Nikki have been walking in the woods around here for about thirty years and then they stumbled over this interesting old relic.
It is an ancient water pump over a well manufactured by Britannia Ironworks in Deanshanger, Northamptonshire.

Apparently Deanshanger Iron Works know that it is there and a few enthousiast have been out to see it!
Having been a Dunsmoron for a mere two years I am still a newby, but I walk in the woods a lot and I had never seen it until Ivan alerted me to its whereabouts.
If you want to take a look you can find it in the valley past Cobnut Farm (the stables). It is on your left if you have come from the direction of the stables, on the section where the fields start on the right.
I must say I couldn’t figure out how it works but I suspect that to a more mechanically minded person it’s obvious!
